Way North Lodge - Things you Should Know When Planning Your Trip

WEATHER

SPRING - As Way North Lodge is 120 Air Miles north of Red Lake, the ice does not leave the lakes until around the 2nd or 3rd week of May. During the day can be warm if the sun is out with much cooler temperatures in the evening and fires are usually needed.

SUMMER - During the day it can be very warm with cooler temperatures at night. Fires are not usually required.

FALL - It is a good idea to be prepared for many types of weather.

*Layering your clothing is a good idea for the many different types of weather. Rain gear is essential as well as a good pair of shoes. Don't forget to bring your polarized sunglasses, sun-tan lotion and of course your swimsuit!

LINENS, TOWELS, ETC. - Fresh linens, blankets, and pillows are provided for you with the cabin. We do not provide bath towels, face cloths, or hand towels so please bring them with you. Toilet paper is provided but if you prefer to bring your own please keep in mind that Way North Lodge operates on a septic system.

LAUNDRY - We do have a washing machine and dryer available for your convenience. Please note: as generators strictly power the Lodge there are specific times of the day that laundry can be done. Please see Lodge staff for more details.

ALCOHOL, POP, SNACKS, ETC. (weight Restrictions) - We have a variety of beer, liquor, pop, and snacks available at the Lodge for a reasonable charge. If you choose to bring your own, please keep in mind there are weight restrictions. See "Weight Restrictions" for more details. Please note: we DO NOT allow our Guides to drink alcohol on the job and we ask that guests NOT encourage this.

TIPPING - Please keep in mind; tipping is not mandatory but greatly appreciated. If you wish to leave a tip they can be given directly to the Guide or Lodge staff.
