Here at Way North Lodge, we feel very strongly about preserving our fantastic fishing. Guests are welcome to eat as many Walleyes and Lake Trout as they want at shore lunch but we encourage that no fish are taken home.

This far north, the growing season is short and it can take 25 years for a Northern Pike to reach over 20 pounds. With this in mind, to preserve our world renowned Northern Pike fishing, we do practice 100% catch & release on all our Northern Pike. To date all Pike have been released with special care taken not to injure them

Single hooks are not mandatory to be barb less, however, treble hooks or any baits containing more than one hook are required to be pinched for the safety of our trophy fish.
