Setting Net Lake:

We have recently made Setting Net Lake accessible from Way North via portage - it is a 45 minute portage ride or if you would prefer you can still fly there. Setting Net Lake is truly one of a kind for the fisherman with a sense of adventure and a desire to fish a lake that sees only a handful of fisherman each year. Setting Net Lake will definitely meet your expectations - the portage ride which includes sights such as the abandoned gold mine before arriving at Setting Net creek is only the start of your journey. A short boat ride up the creek, through a channel in the rapids, will take you to your day's fishing adventure. Setting Net Lake consists of two large, two mile long, segments connected by a narrows. There are many channels that concentrate countless numbers of 18" - 25" Golden Walleyes. The dozen's of lush weedy bays are the home of Setting Net's Trophy Northern often inn excess of 40" plus. If you want to explore even further to the South end of Setting Net Lake - Penock Lake can be reached through a river for a strictly untapped fishing discovery.
